1964 Mustangi (R6, 170cid, 101hp) baashind oli $2320. 1965 Mustang GT fastback with code "K" V8 289cid mootorist saadi 271hp! Auto hind oli $3200.
Et hinnast aru saada, tuleks seda millegagi võrrelda. Huvitav, palju maksis siis McDonald´s Big Mac? Ennustan, et kuskil ühe dollari lähedal. Nii arutledes tundub hind olevat väga madal. Kui suur oli siiski selleaegse keskmise kodaniku palk? Ja kui suur protsent perekonna sissetulekust aastas läks uue auto ostu alla?

Ah mis te ajate - sünnipäev on ikkagi 17. aprill 1964. Jah, ka mina kuulsin eile Radio Maniast, et 10. märtsil on Mustangi sünnipäev ja ma isegi helistasin sinna ja parandasn neid, aga millegi pärast seda eetris ei korratud.
The new car first made its debut at the New York World's Fair on April 13th, 1964. First showings were at the Ford Pavilion to invited members of the press, time enough for news reviews to start showing up in leading magazines in efforts to bolster the public unveiling on April 17th, 1964. By this time, the Mustang was in dealer showrooms, covered from public view. As media hype was at its peek, the unveiling of Ford's new "Pony Car" drove over 4 million people to showrooms across America the first week. During this same period, over 30,000 cars were ordered.

The Ford Mustang is an automobile produced by the Ford Motor Company, originally based on the Ford Falcon compact.[1] The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9 March 1964, and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17 April 1964, and via all three American television networks on 19 April.
